Vice President of Project Management
TRI Pointe Homes
Rick Wood is the Vice President of Project Management for TRI Pointe Homes – Southern California. He joined TRI Pointe Homes, Inc. as Vice President, Project Manager in March 2015. In his role at TRI Pointe Homes, he is responsible for all aspects of successfully planning and implementing the company’s projects from land acquisition and entitlements through project completion and close out. His responsibilities include assisting land acquisition, and managing forward planning and entitlements and other pre-development activities. He oversees the operations of a project management team involved with site planning, project approvals, engineering, architectural and landscape design.
Prior to joining the TRI Pointe Homes team he served as Vice President of Project Development for Standard Pacific Homes from April 2012 through March 2015, where he managed several projects throughout southern California. He was instrumental in growing the Inland Empire division.
Mr. Wood was with Meritage Homes, Inc. from June 2010 to April 2012 where he served as the Director of Land Development. He managed all of the Southern California divisions due diligence efforts as well as all land development.
Previous to Meritage Homes, Inc., Mr. Wood spent nearly nine years at Centex Homes rising to the position of Vice President of Land Development for Orange County, the Inland Empire and San Diego. He also obtained key planning and development experience while employed at Greystone Homes and California Pacific Homes.
Mr. Wood is actively involved in industry and community organizations. He is currently serving on the Building Industry Association of Southern California’s Board of Directors since 2015 as an Executive Board Member, and on the governmental affairs committee. He was a member of the BIA’s Home Builders Council from 2002 to 2006. In addition, he served as a committee member of the City of Hope Construction Industry Alliance Spirit of Life dinner.
Mr. Wood received his Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Long Beach.
Mr. Wood is married to his wife Diana and has a grown son and daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys collecting wine, participating in outdoor activities including dirt bike riding, hunting, fishing, golf and attending various sporting events.
