BIAOC ANNUAL EVENTS


OUTLOOK Economic Forecast
This event is our largest BIAOC event of the year, with close to 1,000 attendees.  OUTLOOK usually takes place near the end of January or early February.  In the past we have had our Opening Remarks given by Emile Haddad, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FivePoint Holdings, LLC; Scott D. Stowell, Executive Chairman of the Board CalAtlantic Group, Inc.; and Doug Bauer, CEO of TRI Pointe Homes.  The Economic Forecast has previously been given by Dr. James L. Doti, President Emeritus, Donald Bren Distinguished Chair of Business and Economics and the late Dr. Esmael Adibi, Director of the A. Gary Anderson Center for Economic Research and Anderson Chair of Economic Analysis, Chapman University.


Dinner Meetings
There are 3 General Membership Dinner Meetings throughout the year.  The speakers consist of industry leaders and outside professional speakers whose presentation pertains to our industry.  These meetings also have an Extended Networking portion of 1.5 hours prior to the event.
 

Crafts & Cars
We have created a networking event where we collaborated a Classic Car show with craft brew tastings! There is great food and music and it is a great event to just relax and casually network.

Angels Game Night
This year, we will be hosting our 11th Annual BIAOC Baseball Night.  We have an all you can eat taco tailgate under the "Big A" where members come before the game to hang out and eat.  The seats are in the outfield and BIAOC usually takes us an entire section!


Women's Leadership Conference
The Women's Leadership Conference is an event that highlights different women in leadership roles inside the industry and out.  We have had speakers such as Hayley Arceneaux, SpaceX Astronaut, Bone Cancer Survivor, St. Jude's Physician Assistant; Natalie Grumet, Breast Cancer Survivor, Mass Shooting Survivor, Life Survivor; DR. J.P. Pawliw-Fry, Emotional Intelligence (EQ), Thought Leader, Leadership, Performance and Change Expert; Lisa Leslie, former WNBA MVP; Sherry Lansing, Former Chairman & CEO of Paramount Pictures; Courtney Ferrell, Inspirational Change Agent; Keri Walsh-Jennings, 3x Olympic Gold Medalist; Susan Ershler, History-Making Mountain climber, Business Executive, & Author, and many more! 


Golf Tournament
This year, 2022, we celebrated our 55th Annual BIAOC Golf Tournament!  This event is a great networking event where we have 300 golfers and over 70 volunteers.  The tournament is held at the beautiful Coto de Caza Golf Course, with it's amazing views and great food, we are glad we can call it our tournament home.  This event is a great way to market your company with a variety of different sponsorships available.  This is definitely one of our most popular BIAOC events!


BITA Wine Event
The Wine Event is important because it is a fundraiser for the Building Industry Technology Academy (BITA).  BITA is a comprehensive four-year high school program that was started in 2002 with the intent to develop a construction program aimed at producing skilled professionals that will be qualified to enter the home-building workforce.  The curriculum was developed by BIA/OC member companies and educated leaders at North Orange county Regional Occupational Program and the Anaheim Union School District. 


Softball Tournament
The softball tournament used to be a huge event for the BIAOC.  This event is purely for networking and having a good time.  We start early and the teams play all day in the hopes of making it to the Championship Game.   Stay tuned for more news on the upcoming 2022 tournament.  We hope you can join in on the fun!
